Announcing 5 Extraordinary New Tours for 2026: Exploring the World Like Never Before

At TOD, we don't believe travel is just about checking off destinations—it's about immersing yourself in life-shaping, memorable moments. That’s why we’re thrilled to announce five brand-new tours for 2026, each designed to awaken your spirit of adventure and deepen your connection to the world. From celestial wonders and cultural riches to transformative history, here’s a deep dive into our five new experiences and why your 2026 travel calendar won't be complete without them.

The Eclipse of the Century - Spain or Iceland - August

Dates: August

Why GoWitnessing a total solar eclipse is one of nature’s most awe-inspiring spectacles. It is a brief moment when day turns to night, stars appear in the sky, and the world falls into a surreal twilight. But imagine watching this celestial wonder not from your backyard, but from two of the Earth’s most breathtaking landscapes - Iceland and Spain.

Spotlight on Fun: We’re thrilled to offer once-in-a-lifetime eclipse tours to Iceland and Spain. These exclusive journeys have been crafted to combine the rare magic of a total solar eclipse with the dramatic beauty of these iconic destinations. We chose Iceland and Spain because they are directly in the path of totality, meaning the sun will be completely covered by the moon for almost a minute. These two locations have minimal light pollution outside big cities and boast clear skies this time of year. The outside temperatures are comfortable, and the setting ranges from Iceland's black lava fields, waterfalls, and glaciers to Spain's mountainous terrain, river valleys, pine forests, and high plateaus.

Spectacular Spain with a Solar Twist

Our adventure begins in Barcelona, where we’ll marvel at the city’s whimsical architecture, from Gaudí’s surreal masterpieces to the vibrant energy of La Rambla. Then we journey to Valencia, a city that beautifully marries the old and the new. Here, we’ll explore the breathtaking La Lonja de la Seda—a stunning UNESCO World Heritage Site—stroll through the lively Barrio del Carmen, and take in the ornate beauty of San Nicolás, often called the “Valencian Sistine Chapel.” No visit to Valencia would be complete without experiencing its culinary soul. We’ll roll up our sleeves for a paella cooking class, learning the secrets of Spain’s most famous dish—all before heading inland to the enchanting city of Córdoba.

Known as the "City of Flowers," Córdoba invites us to wander its atmospheric Jewish Quarter, discover treasures in an Arabic-style bazaar, and stand in awe inside the Mezquita—the city's dazzling 8th-century Mosque-Cathedral and one of the most iconic landmarks in all of Spain. Next stop: the charismatic city of Seville. Lose yourself in the splendor of the Royal Alcázar, Europe’s oldest royal palace still in use. Then, climb the Giralda Tower of the magnificent Seville Cathedral, the largest Gothic cathedral in the world. Our journey continues to a place straight out of Arabian Nights—the majestic Alhambra in Granada. Perched high above the city with the snow-capped Sierra Nevada as a backdrop, this legendary palace-fortress will transport you back centuries with its intricate Moorish architecture, serene courtyards, and rich history as the royal court of the Nasrid dynasty.

But the true highlight of our tour awaits on August 12 in the historic town of Segovia, home to the awe-inspiring Roman Aqueduct. As twilight descends, we’ll come together to witness a moment of cosmic wonder: approximately one minute of total solar eclipse just before sunset. With Segovia’s typically clear skies and elevated inland location, it’s the perfect vantage point for viewing this astronomical spectacle.

Iceland Interlude - Total Solar Eclipse

Our journey begins with the rejuvenating embrace of the iconic Blue Lagoon. Nestled in a lava field, this world-renowned geothermal spa is the perfect welcome to Iceland. Let the warm, mineral-rich waters relax your body and reset your internal clock after your travels. Our city tour of Reykjavik, Iceland’s capital, offers architectural wonders like Hallgrímskirkja to the charming Old Harbor, showing how the city blends natural beauty with Nordic cool. Next, step into the geological and historical significance at Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This rift valley marks the boundary between the Eurasian and North American tectonic plates — a dramatic landscape where Earth’s powerful forces have literally pulled continents apart. It’s also the ancient site where Vikings formed the world’s oldest surviving parliament in 930 AD.

Iceland is a land where water literally meets fire! As we travel the famous Golden Circle, we’ll encounter Strokkur, one of Iceland’s most eruptive geysers, and be awed by Gullfoss, the country’s most iconic waterfall. Our journey continues to the plunging veil of Seljalandsfoss and the mighty thunder of Skogafoss — natural spectacles you’ll remember forever. In Vík, we will walk along black sand beaches and stand beneath basalt cliffs as Atlantic waves crash in.  We will take a moment to unwind at Frioheimar, a unique greenhouse powered by geothermal energy, and enjoy the tomato soup, served right where it's grown. In Mosfellsbær,  we will get a rare look inside the Ístex-Lopi Wool Dyeing and Spinning Factory, and learn how Iceland turns wool from Icelandic sheep into warm, resilient textiles. Not to be missed is a dip in one of Iceland's newest spas, the Hvammsvík Hot Springs, nestled amidst striking mountains and dramatic black sand beaches on the edge of Whale Fjord. Here we can choose from eight natural geothermal pools with breathtaking ocean views. On eclipse day, we will travel north past Borgarnes to an area blessed with ideal conditions for eclipse viewing. As the moon silently moves across the sun, we’ll experience an eerie, breathtaking moment of daylight turned to darkness — a surreal phenomenon set against Iceland’s ethereal backdrop.
