July 27 - Day Two – Cairo: Grand Egyptian Museum & Saqqara & Sound and Light Show
After breakfast at the hotel, we begin the day with a visit to the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM). Located near the Giza Plateau, GEM is home to over 100,000 ancient artifacts, including a breathtaking display of 4,549 treasures from the tomb of King Tutankhamun, some of which are being shown to the public for the first time. Prepare to be inspired as we explore masterpieces of ancient Egyptian art and architecture within a space that reflects the grandeur of Egypt’s rich history.
Following lunch, we journey south to one of Egypt's most historically significant sites — Saqqara. Here, you’ll stand before the Step Pyramid of Pharaoh Zoser, the earliest colossal stone building in Egypt and the revolutionary prototype for later pyramids. Built by the legendary architect Imhotep during the 3rd Dynasty, it served as a bold geometric breakthrough in the evolution of royal tombs. While in Saqqara, we will also visit ornately decorated mastaba tombs of Old Kingdom nobles, including the remarkably preserved Tomb of Meri, Vizier to Pharaoh Teti of the 6th Dynasty. These tombs offer an intimate and colorful glimpse into life and beliefs in ancient Egypt. After dinner, we will return to the pyramids for a Sound and Light Show.

July 28 - Day three - The Giza Plateau & Khan el-Khalili Bazaar
After breakfast, we venture to the legendary Giza Plateau. Nothing quite prepares you for your first glimpse of the Great Pyramids of Giza, rising proudly from the desert sands—the only surviving Wonder of the Ancient World. Their immense scale and mysterious allure are simply awe-inspiring. Led by our expert Egyptologist guide, we’ll explore this ancient funerary complex and stand in the shadow of the enigmatic Great Sphinx, believed to bear the features of Pharaoh Khafre. Listen as myth and history come together, revealing the genius of ancient Egyptian civilization. If open, you'll even have the rare opportunity to step inside one of the pyramids—a truly once-in-a-lifetime experience you’ll never forget
This afternoon, we will explore the Khan el-Khalili Bazaar, the oldest market in the Middle East, where we will have lunch on our own or simply unwind and watch the action at the legendary Al Fishawy coffee shop, a Cairo staple since 1769. With its maze-like lanes teeming with vibrant spices, glittering lanterns, and handcrafted treasures, it’s a shopper’s paradise and a photographer's dream. When we return to our hotel, we will meet for dinner.

July 29 - Day Four -Fayium Oasis
After breakfast, we say goodbye to Cairo and head to the Faiyum Oasis, a peaceful escape southwest of the city. This lush spot is ideal for nature lovers, history fans, and anyone seeking a unique adventure. With our local guide, we start at Qarun Lake, one of the world’s oldest lakes. Next, we visit Wadi El Rayan, home to Egypt’s only waterfalls, where desert views meet rushing water. We then explore the stunning Magic Lake, famous for its shifting colors, before enjoying a tasty barbecue lunch at a Bedouin desert camp. A highlight is a relaxing felucca sail on Magic Lake, offering sweeping views of waterfalls and desert cliffs.
Our journey continues to Wadi al-Hitan, a UNESCO site with the world’s largest collection of ancient whale fossils—remnants from when this desert was a sea. You’ll also see fossilized mangroves and sea cow remains. Finally, we visit Tunis Village on Lake Qarun, known for its handmade pottery and artistic charm. After checking into our Faiyum hotel, we gather for a traditional dinner and reflect on the day’s discoveries.

July 30 - Day Five - Cairo - Luxor
After breakfast, we’ll catch a flight to Luxor, once known as Thebes, the storied City of a Hundred Gates, and considered to be the world’s greatest open-air museum. Here, you’ll find magnificent temples, sacred tombs, and centuries-old wonders, each with its own story to tell about powerful pharaohs and ancient gods.
Once we check into our hotel, you’ll have some free time to truly soak in the enchanting atmosphere of this ancient city perched on the banks of the Nile. The afternoon is yours to explore at your own pace—whether you fancy wandering sun-drenched streets, marveling at the intricate carvings of Luxor Temple, taking a peaceful riverside stroll, or diving into history at the Luxor Museum. This evening, we’ll come together for a welcome dinner, the perfect opportunity to share stories and highlights from our first day in Luxor.

August 1 - Day Six - The West Bank, Luxor
After breakfast, we’ll meet our local guide and set off for a boat ride across the Nile to the West Bank of Luxor – a landscape once considered the Realm of the Dead by the ancient Egyptians. Our morning begins with a visit to the world-renowned Valley of the Kings, the ancient royal burial ground of Egypt’s pharaohs. Here, you’ll explore several tombs, each telling a unique story through vibrant wall paintings and intricate hieroglyphics. Next, we’ll marvel at the magnificent Temple of Queen Hatshepsut, an architectural masterpiece nestled into the cliffs of Deir el-Bahari. Hatshepsut, Egypt’s famous female pharaoh who ruled as a king, left behind this awe-inspiring mortuary temple. We will have time to wander the expansive courtyards and admire the detailed scenes of her journey to Punt carved into the walls — a testament to her powerful reign.
Next, we journey to Deir el-Medina, the extraordinary village that once housed the artisans and laborers entrusted with crafting the royal tombs of the Valley of the Kings. As we walk through the stone streets of this ancient community, you'll gain insight into the daily life, belief systems, and exceptional craftsmanship of Egypt's skilled workers.
Finally, we’ll explore the Valley of the Nobles, a quieter but no less impressive counterpart to the grand royal necropolises. In these finely decorated private tombs, you’ll see vivid murals portraying everything from banquet scenes and agricultural life to heartfelt depictions of religious rituals and the journey into the afterlife.
After a morning filled with wonders, we’ll enjoy lunch at a local restaurant set against a historic backdrop. In the afternoon, we'll explore the Temple of Medinet Habu, a hidden gem dedicated to Ramses III. This colossal and remarkably well-preserved temple is best known for its massive reliefs chronicling the pharaoh’s victories over the mysterious Sea Peoples. With fewer crowds and grand courtyards, this site offers a serene yet powerful window into Egypt’s grand architectural tradition. Before returning to our hotel, we’ll stop at the towering Colossi of Memnon — twin statues of Pharaoh Amenhotep III, each carved from a single stone block and standing 18 meters tall. Built during the Roman era, Dendera is famed for its breathtaking reliefs that appear as fresh as if they were painted yesterday. You’ll even spot unforgettable scenes featuring Queen Cleopatra!

After breakfast, we’ll set off on an exciting journey to Aswan, the gateway to ancient Nubia in Upper Egypt. Our adventure begins with a stop at the fascinating Kom Ombo Temple, built in 332 BC during the Greco-Roman period. Unique for its dual dedication, this temple honors both Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon-headed god. You’ll even get to see some of the mummified crocodiles that once lived here!
Along the way, we’ll also visit the awe-inspiring Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the Egyptian god, Horus. Its grand entrance pylon is covered with intricate inscriptions, and the entire temple, from its 32-column Hypostyle Hall to its beautifully decorated chambers and outer walls, is a testament to ancient Egyptian artistry. Today, our adventure begins at the Aswan High Dam, a true engineering marvel and a symbol of modern Egypt. Not only does this impressive structure help irrigate farmland during low Nile years, but its creation also led to the relocation of over 100,000 people—and even the magnificent Abu Simbel temple of Ramses II, as well as the beautiful Philae temples. Next, we’ll set sail to the enchanting Agilikia Island for a guided tour of the Temple of Philae. This sacred site, dedicated to Isis, Osiris, and Horus, was built during the reign of Ptolemy II in the Greco-Roman Period. As you wander through its ancient halls, you’ll discover intricate stories carved into the walls—tales of Isis’s devotion, Osiris’s rebirth, and the miraculous birth of Horus.
To wrap up our day, we’ll stroll together through the vibrant local market, featuring an intriguing mix of Nubian and Egyptian textiles, essential oils, perfumes, jewelry, handicrafts, and spices. Next, we’ll explore the historic St. Sergius and Bacchus Church, said to be built above the very cave where the Holy Family once found refuge during their flight to Egypt. After checking into our hotel, you’ll have some free time to relax or explore at your own pace. But the excitement doesn’t end there! As evening falls, we’ll come together for a magical farewell dinner cruise along the Nile River.
